has excelled. She also enjoys reading and traveling which both provide her with opportunities to further expand her horizons.
She engulfs herself into listening to music while singing is her real passion. It was this passion which led her to successfully attain a merit in the Grade 3 Voice Exam from the internationally renowned Royal School of Music. Music, for Samantha, is a universal language well said to be the speech of angels. She is angelic indeed and her voice has soothed many since she started singing in church at the age of seven. She has served as a Director of her church’s youth choir, a member of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College Chorale Ensemble and the Plattsburgh State University Gospel Choir.
Samantha describes herself as quiet, reserved yet confident without being arrogant. She displays high self-esteem and respect for others and has always been an effective team player capable of adjusting to and overcoming challenging situations. Her strong will, proven leadership ability along with an invincible determination has made her an extra-ordinarily
capable young entrepreneur today. She currently manages a chain of small family businesses in Basseterre, serves as a Property Manager and still finds the energy to teach part-time at the St. Theresa’s Convent School. This is all in keeping with her resolve to educate our Nation’s children and direct them into becoming productive citizens.
Samantha’s platform for the National Carnival Queen Pageant is intertwined with her desire to educate this Federation’s children and young people. She has chosen to be an advocate of “Diabetes in Children and Adolescents” and aims to make them more aware of the prevention of diabetes where possible. In cases where our youth are already affected by this chronic, debilitating condition, she sincerely hopes to enlighten them about the ways in which they can better manage diabetes to avoid complications and live a healthy, active, productive life. |
